Ok, I get it now. I like to hand flap when I'm alone. I'm very self conscious of it outside the house but sometimes it sneaks out. Sometimes it just feels so good to shake them out. :)

I tap, or I jump around for stimming, though only my family inside my house has heard me do the latter, as it's harder to get away with.

I love building an engine in the shop with no radio and only the outside noises to comfort me . I'll do a little work , pace for a minuet , finger stim for a minuet ,and then go back to work on the engine . Nothing in the world can feel as good as this.

Just out of curiosity...any favorite car models?

I'm always in touch with my autistic side :) It's mixed into everything so much that i can't really get away from it. Even when i'm at my most "normal," there's always something going on that is part of my "autistic side." Sometimes it might even be something that no one think is that strange or that i don't even notice i'm doing at the time,, like getting stuck on a topic, but it's there. Then, of course, i don't think i ever really have a normal range of facial expressions.

Staring out into the distance is always a favorite.

Being "alone" outdoors, when nobody bothers me and I listen to birds.

This is a fairly simple explanation:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theory_of_mind

To put it even more simply, it is the ability to realize that the thoughts/knowledge/emotions of others are different from your own.

I've been analyzing people a lot lately. and all my life aswell.
I've currently forced myself into situations where I have to manage with many different kind of people. It has definitely taught me a lot.

I broke free of the thought that everyone thinks the same. I used to think im the same as everyone else. I still got lot to learn but now that I know, I know where to look at.

By now I keep this thing obvious but I guess its not for many?

I was taught to do this very early (by my mom) as a "survival skill."

Yes, it's true that many people with AS have difficulty with this.

i am completely autistic. i have no sides to me. i am never out of touch with what i am doing or thinking.
there is no aspect of me which is not autistic. it is all pervasive.

Well, I think most of activities I do alone get me in touch with my autistic side.

I play the tuba. At first, it was the only thing that could bring the different parts of my mind into harmony. The more I practice, the more of a musician I become, the more they come together and the more whole I can be.
