Personally, I don't believe God exists, at least not in the way we think about him.
Yet, I trust God. The trust goes back pretty far, and changes in my thinking about what it is I'm trusting don't take away that trust.
I believe in the idea of God as a spiritual path. It's not about the truth, but the journey.
I don't think you can get to any meaningful belief in God by logic. It's more like, does believing God exists, or acting like one does, benefit one's life? If so, it's worth believing.
For me god isn't logical, because he is infinite, and therefore isn't constrained by the "laws of logic". Therefore, i dont believe there is any logical way you can prove the existence of god, as you'd be logically proving the illogical. (i may have missed something though)
Well, it depends how one defines God. God doesn't have to be infinite.
In college in philosophy class we had to read Descartes' proof of God. But the "God" he proves is simply the uncaused cause. No other traits are proven. (Actually -- perhaps not even that. Does time have to have a beginning? Must there be a first cause?) I think any attempt to prove God logically will miss the traits that make God matter, thus, it doesn't even really matter if the attempts are successful.
