Anyone slowly become aware that there might be an association between one or more pairs of the 12 pairs of cranial nerves and Asperger's - autism? Like the VIII pair of cranial nerves (hearing/balance) /possible central auditory processing disorder (CAPD)?

Experiences?

Really? Which ones?

And I've never heard that CN VIII has to do with CAPD- just hearing and balance. For example, neurofibromatosis type II causes tumors to grow on CN VIII, which causes sensorineural hearing loss. Cranial nerves are part of the peripheral nervous system, not the central nervous system, so Central Auditory Processing Disorder would be incorrectly named if cranial nerves are involved (not that this is impossible, given that we don't known much about it- I've just never heard of this before).
