Other aspie website
I was on Aspies Central and then I posted some humor there and it got put me on moderated status and it got my other online friend into trouble when he responded to my thread. The admin there thought the pother person put me up to it and I got asked about trolling and I was like "What? no." Well anyway I didn't like how the admin acted and my friend got banned and I was put off moderated and I don't know what happened that that friendship because he either blamed me or we just lost in touch because we had nothing else to talk about and then MSN got rid of their messenger and went to Skype so there went all my contacts there. I was just there recently not too long ago and a lot has changed so I don't know if they even have the same owners there as last time. One of my online friends was one of the admins there and he was the one who got me off moderated status when he explained my humor to him and how I always did it here and it's been taken the wrong way by members. Even one here has admitted to me in PM that my humor isn't her taste. But I have cut back on my humor a lot.
I was on Aspies for Freedom now defunct and I found that place fair, it wasn't as active as it is here.
Aspergic, also fine and now it's defunct too.
Autism Friends Network, also okay but it's not as active as here so I don't go there very much.
I have been to the one on Psyforums but it was never active as it it here.
Then there are the Facebook groups and I don't post in them often and I never go back and read the comments most of the time because I don't like the way Facebook changed their groups and you have to keep on scrolling down for threads and that is annoying. I miss the old feature.

AspiesCentral has a cleaner, more functional site, but much fewer posters and sub-forums, so it isn't as interesting. The regular posters were nice but I started to feel kind of claustrophobic with the same people posting all the time, especially since most seemed so "normal." I feel more comfortable with the weirdos.
I don't like the way they dress up the featured posts; it seems kinda fake and wannabe news website.
The mods are more heavy-handed with the banhammer. It seemed like maybe the blunter, stereotypically socially clueless but mostly harmless Aspie types were more likely to get banned because a couple of them tried to post about the misunderstandings that got them moderated, then they got banned for discussing the mods' actions. I found that discomfitting, like I had to watch what I posted more closely. If I wanted to deal with that anxiety, I'd go back to posting on NT forums.

So I see I wasn't the only one with that issue then. I guess that is a indicator how bad your social skills are if that happens to you.

I've been on quite a few aspie sites. Most of them were small and inactive, which caused me to lose interest. I also came across one that was small and active but with such a tight knit group I felt like an outsider who was kept at a distance.
Some have been.... very not for me. Nuff said.
And there were some that were only about support and advice, which is good when you're looking for specific things, but becomes too lacking in diversity for my taste when you just wanna hang out.
There have been a few larger ones that were good, in particular the one named Spectrumville, which was for spectrumites but also had sections about other things. SV had a great group of people, it really felt like hanging out with friends and I liked that it was basically the same people with some new that came and went, but unfortunately it became inactive over time and sadly closed down 2 years ago.
Most ASD forums don't last very long.
