I see no one reacts to my 'most insane insults' topic so I reformulate it

I'm not sure, I don't really react to plain insults, so they don't register in my brain.

In 9th grade someone from the group of kids I was trying to fit in with said “why don’t you just go away?!?!”. I spent the remainder of that year and the next eating lunch outside and the last two years of High School eating in the art room.

Probably not the worst insult I ever received, but definitely one that affected me allot.

"you come off like a serial killer."

the girl who said it wasn't even trying to be malicious, we had just started a new job together a few days prior and seemed to be getting along great. But she was curious about me and out came that line which I'll admit really threw me for a loop. But after those few days I did feel as though my skin had thickened.

Algebra teacher, "Are you here to learn or just take up space?".
My Dad thought it was hilarious.

Math was a huge struggle for me.
I'm the Art, English, History, Sociology, type.
Although Geometry was a breeze.

My family, when I was a kid, referring to me in the third person... "M... has no feelings." It was a joke, because I didn't act upset or look sad when I was called names. To the point where I could have someone screaming in my face, or punching me in the stomach (not my family, this was at school) and I wouldn't seem to react.

It's hard to describe why this one liner upset me so much, but it went on for years, and it really got to me. I knew I had feelings, I could describe them easily. I simply didn't move my face the way they expected.

The strange thing is, that real serial killers often can be quite charming with their flawless presentation of eye contact, etc. and able to get people to trust them.

A few that stand out for me are "you come off as ret*d" and "how can you be so smart and yet so dumb too?" and "Oh, you couldn't be getting your Ph.D."

Is that an insult? I guess it depends on where it's coming from.. lots of really smart people are dumb in some ways.. for that matter EVERYBODY is dumb in SOME ways..

I wont repeat the worst insult I've received because it's just too horrible, but the worst one from childhood was a girl in my class saying to me "Everyone hates you! No one wants to be your friend! Everyone talks about how much they hate you." I never found out why the kids didn't like me though... when pressed they would say "mean and annoying" but were never able to site examples.

During my freshman year of high school, I remember a bunch of kids in my Spanish class giving me advice on how to kill myself when I made some sort of comment (what exactly, I don't remember - it might have been about the assignment we were working on or something).

I also had the assistant principal at my high school tell me and my mother - during my freshman year, no less - that I should just drop out and get it over with. It seems she was sick of having to deal with people sent to the office because they were cruel toward me (not that she'd ever discipline them in the first place).

"I don't expect you to make it to 18 years old," said my psychiatrist when I was 17. I'm 40+ now.

Lecturer: Are you always this quiet?
Me: (Said nothing, too busy thinking how quiet I am.)
Lecturer: (Asked the whole class) Is he always this quiet?
Class: (Silence)
Lecturer: (Looked at me) Can you even talk?
Me: (Confused. Didn't know whether he was joking or serious.)
One of the classmates: Sir you're so mean!
Me: (Oh that was an insult.)

I've gotten that one too.

Um...in a fight I had a friend tell me I would never make it in the real world without my parent's credit card and I should just go live in a home that could take care of my "special needs." This was in a text, it was a lot longer but that's the gist.

A guy said (not to my face, heard it from a friend) I was conceited, rude (although a lot of people have said that), socially awkward, and get this: when I was in a social situation, it was like I wasn't listening to anyone else because I was floating above my body to look down upon myself. You know, because I wanted to look at myself all the time since I'm so conceited and all.

Another one said-also not to my face-"Is she crazy, or just a nervous wreck?"

I didn't find any of these too insulting though, and some I found kind of funny depending on the person it came from.

Your classmates defended you? You're so lucky. The people in my class would have just joined in making fun of me if I'd been in that situation.
