this my sound very stupid and since I am uncomfortable with sounding stupid please do not laugh at me(I'm new). What does NT stand for? I know what it refers to but what the heck does it mean? Not knowing is drining me crazy! :oops:

NT = NeuroTypical. All those people whose brains are structured the way the textbooks say they're "supposed" to be. It's a neutral term to use, better than calling them "normal", because we're normal too - we're normal Aspies.

ADD : Attention Deficit Disorder?

APD : Auditory Processing Disorder (hear but not understand)

ASD : Autism Spectrum Disorder?

CBT : Cognitive Behavior Therapy (psychology treatment technique based on changing your attitude by thinking constructively)
DLA : UK support for people living with Aspergers Syndrome?

EDB : Emotional Disturbed Behaviour
FX : Fragile X is the most common form of inherited intellectual disability.

HFA : High Functioning Autism - some think is the same as Asperger's Syndrome
IEP : Individualized Education Program (rolls eyes - do they mean customized lessons?)

LD : Learning Disorder eg Dyslexia
MAAP : More advanced individuals with Autism, Asperger syndrome, and Pervasive developmental disorder (PDD). They have their own website mostly for parents of "MAAP". I don't know what they mean by "advanced" - more extreme like "advanced cancer" or something else?
ND'ers : ref Wrong planet "group of aspies/ND'ers", NeuroDiverse people not NeuroTypical?
NTs : not-Aspies ie non-autistic people, whom they call "neurotypicals" or "NTs". Like Muggles in Harry Potter.

NVLD : NonVerbal Learning Disability : right brain different, similar to Auditory Processing Disorder and Asperger Verbaliser
OCD : Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
OTS : Another forum? (ref from Wrong Planet)
ODD : Oppositional Defiance Disorder
PDD : Persuasive Development Disorder including Dyslexia, ADHD
PDD-NOS : Persuasive Development Disorder - Not Otherwise Specified includes Autism and Aspergers
PTSD : Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, war or car accidents can cause
RDI : I'm not sure from the context "Recommended Daily Intake" in some contexts as in an RDI of Vitamin C.
PSP : (Sony) Play Station Portable (electronic game toy)
SID : ADD and SID???

SIDS : Sudden Infant Death Syndrome - not to be confused with SID like I did.

SPD : Semantic Pragmatic Disorder - difficulty with spoken language
SPLD : Semantic Pragmatic Language Disorder - difficulty with spoken language

Wow! how do you keep up with all of that. I can't even remember my password to get on this sight and I made that one up! Thanks for all the info. Everyone has made me feel so welcome(something I never get from NTs). (I just wanted to use the abbreviation NT in a sentence) look I did It again!

PDD = Pervasive Development Disorder.

not persuasive (though you might be a persuasive person)
