Understanding the Curing Autism Concept...?
When growing up I was in speech and language classes and also had a mild speech delay, so a cure for that was extensive speech language therapy. Right? Was the speech and language issues and delay having to do with autism as a symptom and it was cured?
What does a cure mean, to make someone be like what regular people are, whatever that is? Seems a chaotic existence normality, all the regular things people do.
Grasping the cure concept, I'm just not getting it comparatively or within some understandable reasoning’s. I can imagine being normal, or what it might be like to function and do what others do, just cannot do it.
Hope I am understood, any input is welcome.
For some curebies, nothing less than the total eradication of all autistic traits is acceptable. As a practical matter, though, most parents are eventually thrilled to find out their kid will not be institutionalized and will be able to have some independence as an adult.
