I find that as I've got older many of the specific small routines and rituals have died out although I still like repetition in a more general way such as eating the same type of food visiting the same shops listening to the same piece of music over and over again and many more.

The one large ritual I still have is that if I have anything important to deal with that I am anxious about I have to clean my entire flat from top to bottom beforehand.

If I don't I am totally unable to think about the important matter. It's as if my mind puts a lock on itself and once the flat is clean and tidy enough something clicks in my head and I'm able to think about the issue again.

I have a financial issue to deal with and I can't concentrate on it so it looks like I'm going to have to clean the flat again and that means the windows everything even though they're fine.

It must have something to do with a sense of order.

Thats my Sunday taken care of.

What you describe isn't like me, but I do have strict rituals that most of the time I sub-consciously do, and some that I consciously partake in, Like-
-I get dressed In a very specific order, never changing. I HAVE to put on my socks before my trousers, due to my sensory aversion to fabrics touching my feet or fingertips).
-I get up every single day at the exact same time.
- I eat the same foods at the same time every day.
- I take the exact same route to school all the time. Once when my friend suggested going another way, I threw a hissy fit and they had to put the route back to normal.
