I've often been on forums and blurted out that I think someone might be aspie (or more diplomatically 'show some asperger's traits'), usually as a result of certain key characteristics that have been described and basically I think they stick out like a sore thumb.

I've also noticed it in people in person but have a harder time approaching the subject, for some reason I find it easier to point out these markers on internet forums - possibly due to the reduced likelihood of having my block knocked off lol!

So can you 'pick' an aspie? How often/have you ever been confirmed correct? Have you ever had your block knocked off for blurting out that you think someone is aspie?

It is easy. If you see someone fascinated at the way paint dries, you know he is an Aspie.
