Free eBook How to Land an Office Job
Mods - can I have a sticky for this?
I've written a free e-book on How to Land an Office Job and I'm hoping you'll have a look at it - you can download for free if you like - and please leave me some feedback?
It's addressed to women, because that's all I know, but my nephew says that aside from the wardrobe, most of it applies to guys too.

Excellent! What surprised me, having worked in offices for many years, is that you are totally upfront about "the dark side" of working in an office! I've read such guides by NT's and they are not honest about the amount of deception involved. Even after all the years I've spent in offices, you made some points about office politics that I hadn't realised!
After reading it, I think people with AS will not only have lots of pointers about how to get an office job, but more importantly, be asking themselves: "do I really want to work in an office?". Part way through i was thinking "with all this acting required, maybe I should just get a career as an actor instead as it's far more fun and better paying!".
I eagerly await your follow up: "How to ditch the office job for something far more fulfilling".

Thank you! Two NT publishers wanted it to be more cheerful. I began to think maybe this ebook is for people like me - Asperger's. So I put it here. I really want it to do some good, to be useful.
I just figured out - the site I made is Google, and people would have to log in to Google to leave a Comment. Do you mind if I copy your message from WP and put it in the Comments section?
Of course not!! Actually, I'd like to add that I agree with your nephew in that most applies to males too. It would be a lot of work and I guess you'd have to get a men "who knows how" to contribute, but a male clothing section would make the book for both genders. And doubling your target market!! !
I'm not surprised by what the NT publishers said. I don't think the problem is that your book isn't 'cheerful', just that it is bluntly honest about the office environment. And NT's generally *hate* having the reality of their deceptions out in the open. Personally, I'm fascinated by the psychology of work. How so much of it is about how things are done NOT in the way that they are said. So much is unwritten and the typical NT just knows it. Of course that is hopelessy confusing for us more direct, honest types.
Though I wouldn't be surprised if some NT's didn't appreciate it too. Only they are too clued up to admit it in front of the rest of the office!
I wish there were more 'self-help' guides that were bluntly realistic about the topic in question, instead of all the fluffy, feel good self delusional stuff.
