Thoughts?

yes it does seem a good bit faster. but i wonder if thats why the site now doesn't display properly in my safari browser. it doesn't frame the page in the window, bleeding off the right hand side, but yet no horizontal scrollbar, although it displays ok in firefox. :?

The list of who's currently online is missing too... don't know if that's a related issue or something else.

One more thing Alex (I know, complain, complain complain  )

The top title screen shows my background settings as correct but the bottom shows the generic background setting.

I'm currently in the proccess of revamping the ugly HTML code that the site outputs and Safari isn't liking the cleaner code in its present state (I had been using firefox to test the new edits since most people use that ).

However, since I'm a Mac/Linux guy, I use Safari/KHTML more than any other browser/engine, so this won't be a problem for long.

I like the changes...whatever they were, the new setup zips around like a go-kart, while the previous was more lawn mower-esque.

I have fixed the rendering in Safari at the expense of moving the logo to the wrong side.

I appreciate anything you can do to make this site load faster for us dial up users, but it's only slightly better. It's still a little slow for me to bother using the site regularly. I have to go elsewhere simply because of the slowness of this site.
