Is the reason for the increase in autism diagnoses due to global warming?

or would you put this theory in the same category as: all of autism is caused by wheat, vaccines cause all autism, food additives cause all neurological challenges from polio to Parkinson's, neurological challenges are due only to a lack of megadoses of Vitamin C, and the real reason for everything is the fluoride in the water?

---

Is the reason for the increase in autism that autism has been targeted as a special interest need and can attract research money - meaning that - the more autism diagnoses, the more potential income for certain research groups?

Other?

There is an increase in diagnosis purely for a simple fact, and that people weren't diagnosed until 1994 so alot of adults are being recognised now.

Actually, autism is increasing because little green men from outer space are beaming radiation into our brains. It's a fact. 8)

That sounds a little like astronomer Professor Stephen Hawking (UK):

Global Warming vs Little Green Men (Aliens) From Outer Space?

Some other reason for the increase in autism diagnoses?

Question: How does one know the aliens are green (for sure) and not purple?

There have been periods of global warming in the past and it was linked to heightened creativity.

Should be easy to prove or disprove... Was there more autism after the last warming cycle? I'm not going to dignify Al Gore's moneymaking agenda, with doing that research myself.

I think the reason that we see more and more diagnoses of autism because society today is more accepting of difference among people, and it's less likely that autism will be hidden by falsely ashamed families. This is a good thing!

Good point.

Can believe that since there were Ice Ages on planet earth. When ice melts (global warming), then agriculture/growing food is easier for humans.

Really? That would be interesting, if true. I get more creative with the sun in Leo. 8)

simple face, correlation does not equal causation. The notion that global warming/vaccines and all that causing autism is kinda like the convoluted false logic of: 9/11 terrorists were Muslim, so all Muslims must be evil. Just pointing out both notions are pure crazy :/

So if we cure autism, the world will find itself in another ice age? Full of pirates? Best argument in favor of Neurodiversity EVER.

No. The reason for the increase in autism is is an increase in the number of diagnoses. Simple as that.

What the heck does global warming have to do with ASD diagnoses?
