I was watching the First 48 and it was about some guy who killed a doctor, by stabbing. So It was saying how the killer moved to France after the killing because of his French citizenship and France would only sentence him to 20 years then parole while America is life without parole.

So on the show it showed wrongplanet.net and his post about how he says he's never been in a relationship and he thinks he might have AS. They said he was quiet and socially awkward. He blamed the doctor for messing his mind up by prescribing him some meds more acne. He then made a bogus appointment and killt the doc.

They said his original plan was to cut off the doctors feet and hands, he brought a bunch of tools up to the docs office bu the doc fought back and kind of whoopt his ass but he ended up killing the doc.

That goes to show the kinds of problems and issues AS people can have.

Not really. This guy said he might have AS, and by the sounds of the relationship he had with his doctor, it dosen't seem like he was even diagnosed.

Crazy bastard. He could have just not taken the meds. Seems like a better option to me than killing my doctor lol. Do you know what episode that was?

That goes to show the kinds of problems and issues anyone can have---AS or NT.

That just goes to prove he didn't have AS and possible had some type of schizophrenia.

Doesn't prove anything. NTs can become killers, too. So can people with AS. And yes, the man could've had AS. That doesn't mean that AS forced him to do anything; AS has no impact on whether or not you decide to kill someone.

OP, you should learn that one example does not prove anything. Ever.

For the record, people diagnosed with Asperger's have a significantly lower crime rate--though this probably has less to do with any moral differences than it has to do with crime often being a social activity.

It shows what kind of crazy and/or criminal people posing as having AS ( or whatever) there are in large public websites like this.

I just got my first message in my in box here. From an overly flirtatious "women" who writes in broken English. "She" no doubt is a gang of men in Nigeria running some kind of scam. Needless to say i didnt respond.

So, beware!

I'm drawing a completely different lesson from this which has nothing to do with AS. The lesson I get from it is that you don't really know who is posting or lurking here unless you have met them in real life. That's why I give no identifying information or photos and sheer all personal identifiers off my anecdotes. You just never know if the unbalanced poster or lurker is somebody who lives in your town so for heaven's sake don't go posting the name of your town alongside photos of yourself. But many posters do.

The doctor prescribed him medicine for Acne? It could have been the medicine that caused him to be homicidal. He might have been teetering on the edge and the acne medication triggered something in his brain chemistry that pushed him right over, and that wouldn't be the first time.

This site has 40,000 members and some 20,000 members have posted. The odds are actually pretty high that you get a few people like that to post on the board. Also, the where are the details of the story?

+100!! ! Thanks for voicing this so well--that's exactly how I feel and why I conduct myself anonymously on this site.

Even so, I don't think it necessarily means that person would just go out and target anyone who posts on WP. He obviously had a motive to kill his doctor. It wasn't a random killing.

But yea. Rage is a terrible and dangerous thing that should always be taken extremely seriously, and some people really are affected by words posted to them on a message board.

It's not just this website., it's any website. People are taking a huge risk giving up anonymity anywhere on the world wide web. You don't know who might be looking and what they might be thinking. That's why I don't like to put my name, address and telephone number beside everything I post, on Wrong Planet or elsewhere.
Still, everyone has that choice to make, what they choose to disclose about themselves.

Dangerous people are everywhere, it wouldn't surprise me if there were other incidents.

Its hard to imagine how hard it must have been for this community after a certain october 30th, for example.

Couldn't agree more. If you're posting stuff online, you can never be too careful.
