how are you, wp- i've been on a bit of hiatus from crawling the board every day but i thought i'd revisit just to lol some more over this

today i was cut off in traffic by a van sporting AUT autism awareness bumper sticker. i thought that was very smart of them to do.

all i was doing was getting up to stop at the red light to do a right turn on red toward my destination. than this pro comes zooming up to steal "first place" by going in front of me then slamming the brake since they came up so fast.

great job! you won, aren't you special?

and then I had to wait the entire long light cycle to be able to make the turn. the end. ;]]

People were ruder when I had a crappy car, but since I got a better one, driving is easier. Just the other day some bozo behind me was honking and pointing. I thought I had a flat tire, but he was just being a jerk. I don't know what his problem was. My mom rolled down her window to see what he wanted and he just passed in a huff and said nothing.
I have another car now, a Nissan, and I already notice improvements (the other car was a Kia). People judge you by what you drive.

Reminds me of an old Gallagher story about some jerk playing leap frog in traffic. Switching lanes suddenly, zooming up on rear ends, falling behind, switching lanes again, zooming up again, repeating over and over like a maniac only to end up right in front of him at a red light. So Gallagher gets out of the car, walks up to the guys window and gently taps. The guy rolls down his window and Gallagher asks calmly, "What the f*** was all that s*** back there for?"

So I'm requesting my account be locked, banned or whatever. It's just time. Until then, well, I dunno...

You generally want to avoid interacting with a stranger in this kind of potentially hostile situation (which I guess why it's humorous, that it's so blatantly inappropriate). You really want to avoid even making eye contact.

Someone honking and stuff, use that as reasonable inspiration to play your best game: Is there something further ahead I should be aware of. Is there someone racing up from the side? How are other drivers reacting?

Something like going to a lecture at a university, that's where you have a reasonable chance for some positive stranger-to-stranger interaction.
