We are trying to plan a few in-person group meetings this summer for young adults (approximately eighteen to thirty years of age) with Asperger's syndrome in the St. Louis, Missouri, metropolitan area. If you live in or near St. Louis and have Asperger's syndrome, you are invited to participate. Please send me a private message, and I will get a head count and start working with people's schedules and preferences to see what can be worked out.
We are tentatively planning our next meeting for Saturday, June 10, 2006, at a Chevy's Tex-Mex restaurant (we're unsure about the location and time of day right now). Last summer our activities included having dinner together at a T.G.I. Friday's, visiting the eclectic Delmar–University City Loop neighborhood, visiting the Powder Valley nature reserve, browsing the historic St. Charles downtown neighborhood, and more. We try to plan meetings that accomodate the diverse personalities and preferences of our members.
Currently BONSAI (Becoming Our Natural Selves as Autistic Individuals) has six members with varying levels of participation in group activities. We are looking to find more young adults in the St. Louis area to expand our social networks.
