For those of you who have been tested & diagnosed with an ASD, what was it like? What exactly took place while being tested? How did you find out you were diagnosed?

I'm asking because, the way things have been going in my life lately, I'm going to try as hard as I can to get tested if at all possible. I'm really nervous about what's going to happen during the process. I may very well not be able to be tested for a long time (no health insurance), but I would still like to know for future reference.

I had to fill out a bunch of paperwork ahead of time, mostly the same tests that are available online, and then met with the psychologist for two hours. She was an AS expert who only treats and sees people with AS or for AS diagnoses.
