Do you have sensitive feet, so that [like me] you HAVE to use shoes on ant but the smoothest surfaces even though your feet are happier bare? Or can you lithely stride across a beach of hot sand mixed with shells and pebbles?

I always wear shoes. In the house I wear open-shoes. My feet hurt otherwise. I notice I try to toe-walk without any shoes so I wonder if the reason autistics toe-walk has something to do with not wanting their feet to touch the ground.

Not me, I love different textures and their sensations. I go barefoot hiking every now and then. Mud is an awesome feeling, dirt, grass, whatever. Even gravel - it's painful at first, but a good kind of pain.

I have very sensitive feet. I always wear slippers/shoes. And NOBODY but myself is allowed to touch my feet. I even find cutting my toenails complete torture

If my feet have been wet within the past day, I cringe while walking on carpet and have to try and scrunch up my feet and walk on their sides, very quickly. :?

It's like being scratched by electrified needles.

I always go barefoot. Though I hate how my feet get when I bathe or swim.

My feet are sensitive, but it's not so bad. I like wearing shoes and stepping on small rocks and such to feel them through the soles.

Oh, yes - worse than clipping fingernails by far.

Yes, but I always thought it was because I was heavy. Once I tried hardening the soles by burning them on hot bitumen but it didn't make any difference.

Eh......my feet aren't too sensitive, but I can't stride across hot sand.

I just don't go barefoot very much because I have toenail fungus (which I likely aquired in the hot/humid climate in South Florida) and I can't get rid of it  It only bothers me because it makes me feel like trailer trash or something...lol.

Considering the side effects (possible liver damage being among them), i'm not taking Lamisil. I refuse to take the risk of serious side effects just to rid myself of a condition that's nothing more than unsightly. There are also laser treatments for toenail fungus, but I can't afford them. I kinda like picking at the toenail crust when i'm watching a boring TV show or something anyway

Horus, I took that for the three months, and the big toe started to show a half clear nail, and now, a year later it hasn't regressed and is a fungal center spot. I suppose another course would do the trick. I held off from taking a concurrent dose due to another required liver test by the doc.
I guess I should have followed up but I didn't want to be stabbed again; make the appointment and schedule work for this. It was said 90 days would do it but not in my case.

O.P. I walk around the house with socks on as my feet are sensitive.

I recall when 5 I was signed up to take swimming lessons, and the public pool had cracks in many places in the bottom, and I would tip toe across the cracks to avoid them at all cost. Back in the day I was teased a bit by family when we'd go swimming as I was looking more at the bottom of the pool than anything else. I just couldn't step on the "cracks"

No, but my NT husband does! He hates having his feet, and especially his toes, touched. He only cuts his toenails when they're so long they're claws. The only thing he can tolerate is our dog, who loves to lick my husband's toes and feet. (This is pack grooming behavior; in wild packs, other canines will clean the alpha canine's paws; my husband is clearly the alpha in Einstein's mind!) I usually wear bedsocks around the house, though, because I hate having cold feet!

I've got it on all ten toes and every nail is nothing but crust. It's pretty disgusting I guess....but men's feet are pretty hairy and gross in the first place IMO, so i'm not too worried about it. The way I see it....we all spend enough time on the preventative measures which help stave off more serious health concerns. These activities are tedious enough, so I just can't be bothered with comparatively superfluous things alot of people do to make themselves as pretty as possible. Especially when said things may lead to some serious health concerns. I'm borderline asexual as it is, so I have little incentive to make myself visually appealing to the opposite sex in any ideal sense. The girl that I see from time to time now doesn't seem to mind my crusty toenails, but she's pretty open-minded and more like a man when it comes to the "gross" things men often do. She farts in front of me (never had any other woman do that before, it's actually kinda refreshing...lol) and picks her nose while driving. She doesn't take showers everyday and sometimes goes without one for a week or so. I hate sound like i'm stereotyping people, but I must admit I was a bit shocked (not in a bad way at all though) by all this when I met her. She looks like the typical "hot bookworm"....kinda like a younger Lisa Loeb. Considering her appearance and overall personality....it was a tad unusual the first time she farted in front of me. She's far less squeamish than I am when it comes to bodily functions, blood, insects, etc......She is a nursing student and has worked in nursing homes before as an NA. Nothing phases her in terms of poop, pee, vomit, blood, etc...and i'm sure this will help to make her a very successful nurse.

I used to toe-walk when I was a child but trained myself out of it when I was eight years old because of ridicule. My feet are very sensitive, but so is the rest of my body. When I lay on my back in bed, just the pressure of my heels against the mattress hurts and I have an extremely comfortable and soft mattress. I think I must have Princess and the Pea Syndrome.

I love walking on different textures, except for hot pavement.
