Does anyone else here get uncomfortable sitting in a chair? I study on my bed because of this

Yes, I hate having my legs dangling. I prefer to sit on the floor.

I like sitting on the floor too. I do it on the underground sometimes but I often get stared at, which annoys me

I have to have something sitting on my lap when I sit down, no matter where. So I usually get a pillow or a folded up blanket. I know the people that make weighted blankets also make weighted lap pads for that purpose so I really need to get one to make myself more comfortable. When I'm at other places I usually have a tote bag with all my notebooks and books (one for each interest, or any other item) and I put that on my lap instead.

I find that I have to sit cross-legged on chairs or sofas, which can make things a little tricky. My Nan and I used to have a really comfortable sofa, but she bought a new one, and now i can't even stand to be in the same room as it. It is a poor replacement.

Yes, I have always disliked sitting and prefer to recline. When no one is around to criticize, I even eat in bed. Yet sitting up makes me feel rational, orderly and in control, so my anti-sitting prejudice has had a profound effect on my life. It's a moot point now, however, since lower back issues make sitting for more than an hour impossible.

Chairs are awful. I like sitting on a cushion on the floor.

I'm not a fan of chairs, either. I live very close to the ground.

I'd rather be sitting on a couch, a bed or the ground.

Yeah I sit cross-legged too. Chairs are so annoying - I would much rather a bed or a cushion as you have said

I always sit with my legs crossed and feet interlocked. Kind of keeps them quiet. Else they dance and move whenever I get excited or speak. In the past I was teased a lot about how I sat. My wife now has no problems with my dancing leg. She thinks it's fun and she can tell by my leg if I like certain things.

By the way I find this a fascinating topic. I remember that in the past I preferred sitting against the radiator on the floor (even as a child). Now after some redecorating in the house there is no radiatorspace left. The more I think of it... I hate sitting. After periods of sitting I get restless and need to stand up or pace around. Weird thing is that when I played Wow like an addict I could spend 16 hours of sitting each day.

I think i'm going to free up a bit of radiator again to test :)

Depends on the chair, but mostly I don't find them comfortable. Never know what to do with my legs, and unless the back of the chair is well-designed, my spine can feel like it's being forced into an unhealthy position. Forget stools with no backs, I'd rather stand up. I can cope with all that if I've got something interesting to do. Much better slouching in a sofa though. I'm more of a recliner than a sitter.

Made a little poll among my acquaintances : no one likes to sit on a chair, especially when you have to do it properly.
