Anyone so tense they don't move?

I feel like in an effort to act normal and in response to overload...

The past 10+ years I have become so rigid that i don't move, respond, just condense everything into one solid stance.

I used to call that state "mind freeze". Yes, it still happens. Thankfully, not too often.

This happens to me ALL the time, and I'm in high school. It happens mostly during school.

It can happen to me - it takes a sudden unforeseen high-emotion shock.

Compare the mouse maze experiment where the beastie realizes it will gt a shock [and no food] WHICHEVER way it goes, and, I am told, just hunkers down quivering.

That is cruelty to animals; we have no rights in this area.

i get it a lot when i am not comfortable and am aware of my own body too much.

I guess it could potentially be classed as a catatonic stupor. Maybe that would be far worse. i dunno.

Yes. I have this. When I'm very nervous I can barely talk and go very very still.

Also, I used to fidget and move about with both nerves or excitement but I tried to train myself out of this so as to appear more normal. So I practiced being very very still. In the end I found this extreme stillness almost as comforting as it's opposite, so I now I have both extremes - I tend to fidget and move around a lot in private and compulsively go very very still around people I don't know. Being very still is socially more accepted than being all jittery. But regardless of this trained habit, I have always gone very still and quiet - silent and statue like - when very stressed or nervous.
