There are those who say we always have a choice. These are the types of choices I believe in my opinion we could have.

a. choices with both positive and negative outcomes

b. choices with only positive outcomes

c. choices with only negative outcomes

Type a has to have 2 or more outcomes because there has to be at least one positive and one negative outcome to have both positive and negative outcomes.

Types b and c may have 1 or greater amount of outcomes. This is the fine print of always having a choice. A choice by the way can include choosing not to choose or act. This is why I agree with those who say we always have a choice even though the outcomes may be positive or negative and sweet or sour.

One thingI have learned the hard way - I have a tendency to see choices as binary - go or stay, eat or fast. Sometimes I go as high as three otions. But though it is hard to bend my mind to see it, in fact there seem to be always a much wider range of options.

4. Choices which change nothing and produce nothing
5. Choices which change nothing but provide fun along the way
(ie chose to do online iq tests, or research the medical explination for a hangover when the information really has no use to you versus choosing to paint your toenails)

I did not think of that.

Wouldn't this be a positive outcome?
