How do your siblings, assuming you have them, treat you compared to others now and at a younger age? Do they defend you, make fun of you, ignore you, take care of you, are your best friend, etc...?

I have never been and am not close with my brothers. I always just thought it was a gender issue. I took care of them a lot growing up, so that probably didn't help things either. I don't know. I guess I never really thought about it.

Although my sister (and only sibling) is 2 years younger, she is much farther ahead than me in terms of social/workplace interactions. While in the past I modeled for her (e.g. during high school and uni, simply because I was ahead due to being older) these days she models for me as she is entering the professional world while I have been struggling in it.

My brother is like a best friend to me. We argue sometimes but we care a lot about each other. Whenever someone harasses me, he gets protective, and whenever he becomes emotionally unstable, I worry about him. We look out for each other.

I have a very strained relationship with one of my sisters. Part of the reason is because she is very mean-spirited and in the past she has made a lot of cruel jokes at my expense. I know the difference between playful teasing and meanness, and she is genuinely mean. I also despise the way that she treats our parents, constantly asking them for money and favors but never thanking them. She doesn't ever show concern for their feelings nor their well-being (or anyone else's for that matter). She acts like she wants to be close to me, but I don't trust her.

I'm not close to my other sister either. She's much nicer than the one I previously mentioned, but she's lived out of the country for so many years that it feels like we're strangers instead of sisters.

My younger sister is my best friend. We have a similar sense of humor and we get along effortlessly. We don't have as much in common as we used to, though, because we've developed different interests. Even though she's nearly four years younger, she does some things that I don't, like going to school dances. She's an introvert like I am, but she has naturally good social skills and has always had at least a few friends. But we support each other and I think we'll always be close. I'd be a lot worse off without her.

I am eldest and ironically one of the least psychologically impaired. My sisters were my main social life till late high school. My brothers I really barely know.
