I want to get some reusable earplugs so i don't have to keep buying those disposable foam ones, but there are many different kinds that they all look sort of, well, uncomfortable. My mom got me noise-canceling headphones a while back, but I always felt strange wearing them in public as they were not exactly unobtrusive.

I even find the foam ones to be uncomfortable and only wear them when the discomfort of the earplugs is preferable to the discomfort of the noise. Maybe I have small ear canals.

If anyone uses reusable earplugs or has in the past, can you recommend a brand? Can you tell me which ones to avoid?

I don't know. I used to use the foam ones multiple times when I worked around heavy equipment. Is there a way to wear an IPOD to play white noise to block out external noise?

That would involve actually getting an IPOD. I don't know. I guess I could just get a value pack of the foam ones. Sigh.

The wax kind are good for folks who don't like the foam kind; as they mold more closely to the ear. Hope this helps
