Has anybody else encountered NTs who think you're always wrong just because you're an aspie/autie or have some other kind of disorder?
I find it very frustrating, and weird. I thought that one aspie trait was that you're honest to a fault, so why would I be accused of being wrong about something? I guess they assume that because of my mental condition that I'm not well connected with the world around me and have no idea what's "true" and "false", or what's "right" and "wrong." I admit I space out quite a bit, but I don't consider myself stupid. And yes I make mistakes, but so do NTs. I sometimes feel like they emphasize my mistakes simply because I'm an aspie. Yet when I feel/know something is right, they try to correct me. And if I refuse to agree with them, they use the whole "Apies don't like to be corrected" excuse to justify themselves.
I've pretty much given up on NTs like those. It's like arguing with a brick wall. Luckily I know plenty of NTs who actually treat me fairly. But the fact that there are still people out there who think aspies are always wrong angers me to no end.

Quite the opposite for me. NTs usually assume I am always right and I usually am.

I hope things get better for you and you find NTs, as well as people on the spectrum, that don't do that to you.

Same here, but some do talk to me like I am a child if they know I have autism - I find this very annoying.

Being stubborn on your truth is no problem, unless you are really wrong in the arguments. Stay open for theirs, how silly theirs may sound - just get Socratic on them (Link!) but stay nice .

Cheerfully,

The only ones who I know I have Asperger's is my parents, and two of my friends whom I rarely see nowadays.

My parents automatically assume I'm the incorrect one in any situation, but they've always been like that. :/

What seems to bother other people the most about me is that I am almost always right. It doesn't seem to matter how many times I have told people, "I told you so!", they still refuse to see me as a creditable person. I must admit that I find their continued rejections a bit confusing, especially given my long track record of hitting it right. I guess that for most people hope springs eternal and that they simply cannot deal with reality as it is, even when it stares them right in the face and hits them over the head.

Quite the oppostite with me too. People don't understand things the way I do. Thats the way I see it. Like in the morning when I'm listening to the radio show, listeners will call in to play these games and will prizes. I never do because I would be at such an advantage because I would get most of the answers right that most people can't seem to get and it puzzles me.

I'm not public either because I know people will have a prejudiced view on assertions I make if they think I have a "disability"

I agree. Most "NTs" think I actually know more than I do. However, high intelligence can be a hallmark of being an aspie.

"You don't understand emotions or anything emotional so there is no point, you're just wrong and don't understand anything, good friends understand their friends."

Everything else they'll come to me for. Any question, if it's not "emotional" they'll ask me, because I'm "Mister Encyclopedia"

Those who have eventually ended up feeling like idiots pretty quickly. The downside is, when people realize you actually do tend to be right a lot, they start bothering you with their problems.
