When people talk to me it takes me a minute to understand. I usually have this habit of saying what then when they repeat I somehow know what to say and heard everything. I also can't pay attention to lectures and everything. I just can't listen to voices well and taking verbal directions. Going to the doctor soon, had this problem my entire life.

Could be Auditory Processing Disorder, ADHD, or a mixture of both.

It gets a LITTLE better when I drink coffee if that means anything.

Perhaps you should take your friends to Starbucks if this is the case?

If your out of money then get some old clothes out of a trash can and go to a homeless enterprise that gives out free coffee. It’ll solve your focus all in one!

If its coworkers then your probably best ignoring what there saying anyways unless you really want to listen to the JARGON of your workplace.Your there to get paid and not listen to their mumbo jumbo.

That’s what friends are for, not co workers!

I can't really listen to friends either but I just avoid all of my friends now because I feel too dumb. I don't know when I lost my listening ability to this extent.

I recommend that you speak to someone in real life who can help mate. Forums might fill the void of what social life you used to have for a while, but its not a solution. Speak to someone about it like a family member and figure a way forward.

I have a hard time with verbal instruction, too...tho maybe not to the same extent. I saw you mentioned having issues in lectures. I go to school as well and my tape recorder is my best friend. Once I'm at home I can listen, pause, and rewind my way through and take my notes. Makes a tremendous difference for me.

I might go to the doctors pretty soon, but I have no clue what they could do about it.

Most of us go through life without a clue pal.

The doctors will probably try and send you in the right direction.
