Hi guys anyone with blogs on blogspot?
Hi Brown06. I've been online with blogspot at
The Bicycling Guitarist blog (link) for a few years but usually only post once or twice a month. So far there is nothing on my web site nor my blog about my autistic traits, but I will probably post something someday about it as I learn more. For my first forty years I had no clue why I experience life so differently than everyone else I ever met or even heard of. I've been diagnosed officially with Asperger's three times the past ten years.
It is comforting in one sense that I am not the only one with problems reading social cues, sensory issues, obsessions, etc., but it is also depressing that anyone else would feel the way I have felt my first fifty years of life. I recognize that some of the results of my neurology are positive such as my having a greater vocabulary and knowledge of science and history than most people. Also, if not for my neurology I probably would never have become The Bicycling Guitarist, and I see that now as my purpose in life if there is any meaning or purpose at all to it. Still most of my life I have been chronically depressed, partly from the sensory overload and partly from the social rejection. Growing up in the 1960s before Asperger's was known in USA I was misdiagnosed, and I have been misunderstood my whole life and falling through the cracks in society.
This past year I was finally set up with the Developmental Disabilities group of the local health department, which is where I should gone long ago. They have set me up with agencies and other resources and beginning December 1, I will have much more help than I've ever had before, tailored specifically to my needs, strengths and weaknesses.
Have a great day and thanks for posting!
