I don't think it would be a good idea...

I think that if someone with an autistic neurology were to have their neurology changed NT later in life that the effects would be ALMOST ENTIRELY NEGATIVE, assuming that its possible without out completely erasing the individual's interests, memories, ect. It's not like NTs instinctively know everything, they had to learn everything too, and according to some theories of neurplasticity this is only easiest at childhood and certain periods of life, which has long since gone by. I believe that it would remove ALL of the beneficial aspects of Autism, and not get rid of all the negative effects of being autistic. Of course, there is only one way to find out if this is true, and that way cannot be done. Any opinions on this?

I'm not sure on that one, but I personally wouldn't like to be an NT with my current mind and personalitiy, as I'd probably feel more hopeless.

I though of this too. Being 'cured' doesn't magically give you social knowledge out of thin air. You'd still appear awkward due to your memories and how you experienced life before changing.
