I have heard of and seen Aspie people who keep looking in on others and basically spy on them. Alot of the time they will see someone doing their special intrest and will stop and look through a window so they can see. In this case they are even more attracted to ones who they met or know because they think the person likes them automatically. Alot of times someone makes a new friend and follows them home and will look at their house or even spy on them and their family. Most common is when they see someone doing a special intret and will sit and watch all day or long periods of time. These people are usually innocent or over curious but are classified as creeps. Also the name Window Watcher is just a term not always someone who startes through the window it can be from anywhere.

Im wondering if you had this happen before or if you had done this to someone

Haven't had that happen but I'd love to start doing the Silence Of The Lambs dance if someone looked at me through the window; I get a little funny about random people in my business sometimes

Maybe?

I like to listen to people speaking in other languages (one of my special interests) and will follow at a safe distance around the store to listen.. I don't understand any of it, I don't look at them at all, and I don't make any contact, but I do listen intently; I like trying to figure out what language, and what verbal traits they have (tone, accent, pronunciation, intonation, etc.)

Does that count? :?

I like to stare, but only to see how NT behaves or perhaps just to see how they live and what they do in everyday sitiations. I would love to live in a dense city, perhaps next to a high building where I can observe many people at my choice.
I think it makes me safe, knowing that people are near me at any time.
Funny, because I do not want contact with people.

Thats why i prefer to live in apartment. in 1st floor or higher, no window peeking, hate it when people suddenly walk by your window or stand around looking.

"WTF" is my reaction, too.

OP, if you know somebody who does this kind of thing, please, please talk to them--or if they won't listen, talk to their family members, friends, or caretaker--and try to get them to understand that looking into people's windows is not okay, that it's a violation of privacy, that it frightens and angers people.

If they know that they frighten people, and do it anyway, then that's creepy, and I hope the cops haul them downtown in handcuffs before they start doing things more invasive than just watching. But let's give them the benefit of the doubt here--let's say this is an Aspie kid or teen, or maybe an adult who's really and truly clueless. If that's the case, then stopping this needs to be priority number one for them and their families before somebody decides they're a burglar and shoots them.
