I recently spoke with a recommend psychiatrist about getting a diagnosis for Asperger's. The Dr. said that he didn't do that sort of thing and offered no recommendations. I am from Maryland. Does anyone have any recommendations about who I could go to, or how to research this?

Thanks.

Big help he (she?) was.

Do you have insurance?

If so you, contact some local autism organizations and ask them for a list of people specializing in autism.

Many doctors will work with you on a sliding scale on their fees if you have no insurance. Your local autism services group will be able to tell you who works on a sliding scale.

Thank you. I'll try and contact someone from the Maryland Autism society. I have insurance. I also have a 1,200 dollar deducible, so I'll still probably end up paying out of pocket.
