Why is this inevitable?

Oops,

Do you mean inevitable as in a negative thing?

I'm pretty comfortable with it, I mean.....who else is going to take care of him?

Well, it isn't inevitable, my brother is very high functioning. If he can sustain himself then, he doesn't have to stay with me if he doesn't want to. If not, then it is best that he stats in my care when the time comes.

That's very kind of you. Before our (woefully inadequate and inefficient) social welfare system, people took care of family members this way. I hope it isn't necessary, but I salute you for your compassion.

For me at least, "inevitable" is a neutral term. You seem certain of the outcome. I was just curious about what makes you certain.

I think it's great that you are willing to be a safety-net for your brother.
Everyone needs that to some degree.
