Does anyone repeat words in their head? I've noticed when I'm trying to go to sleep I tend to do it more. I just repeat a word for some reason. I do it when I'm not trying to go to bed too, but it's extra noticeable when I'm trying to go to bed. I'm just wondering if this is normal.

I don't even know what normal is lol. Yeah I do that too. Or I remember a phase when I would spell a long word or phrase over and over and over.

Yeah, normal is subjective but it's a little assuring that others with autism are doing it as well. Thank you.

Yeah. I'll get words stuck like that. I didn't think that was an ASD thing. Is it?

I do this all the time. Even now my response on here is already repeating in my head. It gets so annoying and exhausting sometimes!

Most of the time. I read messages on the computer over and over in my head and that and conversations or tv things get repeated in my head as well. If I post a message 90% of the time I read it at least three more times afterward. In a text conversation I repeat the lines in my head of the other person and me multiple times as well. Before I say something outloud it ususally gets repeated in my head before it is said outloud.

I've done it at times as, in my case it tends to help me in some ways though, I suppose I must appear to be very weird as hell...

I repeat words and phrases in my head all the time. I repeat things I hear people say, regardless of whether they're talking to me or someone else or whether I hear them in real life or on TV/radio. I also often repeat in my head things that I've said myself, or certain phrases of my own that I haven't really said, but that I've imagined that I or someone in my day dreams said.
