Non aspies not picking up on non verbal cues
At work, people just don't seem to get out of my way. I keep hitting them with my cart because they just won't move out of the way. Hello when you see someone with a cart and they are coming towards you, move.
Today at work, I get on the elevator but it was full but they had room for me. None of them make room for me, so I was forced to squeeze in. I accidentally rub the cart against the housekeepers hand against the elevator door. I didn't even know I did it till I was told.
Damn it why don't these employees move out of my way? Everyone know when someone is coming towards you, let them by by leaving them room to get by. Also when you're shopping and you see someone standing behind your or in front of you or right next to you, move your cart, they want to get by. My mother taught me that cue when I was in high school. They don't need to say 'excuse me' to get by. They can just stand there and wait for you to get out of the way.
But at work it seems like these immigrants don't get the cue. Either they don't have that cue in their culture or they just don't understand that non verbal cue. I like to say they have AS just for laughs. I'm the normal one and they are the aspies.

In anthropology I learned that not all cultures see time in the same way. Matter of fact the hotter the temperature the less care for time there is. England and Japan had the promptest culture and Brazil and Argentina had the least (of the cultures they studied.)
Not all cultures see right of way in the same way either. And sometimes, they just like to yank the chain of the gringa that gets so steamed up about it.

Spokane Girl, I now what that is like for there, has been a couple of times when, I would be no where near the coffee machine at work and yet, there would be this unusual notion of many of the employees to crowd around it as if it was an all-powerful,sentinent being. Okay, this might sound absurd but, I'm not one for small talk so, I do my best to get in the break-room and out as without expending a great deal of time..
