Years in School
I have heard that aspies prefer younger grades over higher grades, I'm the opposite.
KINDERGARTEN: Wasn't all that great, there were like 20,000 changes in routine every hour of the day!
GRADE 1: Was even worse than kindergarten! There were even MORE chances in return and I got in trouble A LOT!
GRADE 2: Was OK. The regular teacher didn't work on Fridays, so another teacher worked on Fridays, I didn't like her at all, but she was into for another Friday teacher who was leave at the time, and I was glad when the teacher who USUALLY taught on Fridays came back, however, she left AGAIN and the Friday teacher who I didn't like, came back. I remember we had to make "welcome back" cards for her. That was hard.
GRADE 3: The first half was intolerable, the second was pretty good.
GRADE 4: Was probably the best year of elementary school for me, we had a really nice teacher and was better with the changes in routine
GRADE 5: Was the second best year of elementary school for me, I had a pretty good teacher and well, I'd say it went well.
GRADE 6: My first year of middle school, I really enjoyed this year, it was probably my favourite year out of all the school years so far.
GRADE 7: The beginning of this year was just awful, then it got better.
GRADE 8: I thought this year was pretty good, the teacher wasn't my favourite, but I still liked him. I wasn't a fan of all that many people in my class though. Most of them were just OK.
GRADE 9: Was the first year of high school, I didn't like for the first couple weeks, but it's probably my third favourite year overall.
GRADE 10: Has gone pretty well, a little bumpy, but it has it's good points too. This is the grade I am currently in.
I think that the reason why K-Grade 2 were so hard is because of the admin, we got a new principal when I was in Grade 3, so it went better. The first of half of Grade 3 was bad because I didn't like my teacher, but a different teacher came in the second half, and I liked her much better. The reason why I didn't like the first half on Grade 7 is kind of hard to explain,.
What about you?

Everything below college was horrible! As I got older, things did get better, not the other way around. Elementary school was the WORST!
When I got to college, everybody was so mature, it was really easy to tolerate sitting in classes. The lectures weren't boring, either. I was so bored in gradeschool. Most the time I was in a world of my own to escape this dull, mind numbing boredom.
I just wish I would have paid more attention in math classes...and tried harder. I had a bad case of math anxiety and attitude. It was the only class I needed extra help with. Everything else I could do without really trying.

Actually I only started to really enjoy and do well in school when I got to grade 11. I was bullied mercilessly by the entire school from grade 1- grade 8 and was very miserable at school and was not engaged or interested in academics for the most part. Kindergarten and preschool I enjoyed. Grade 9 and 10 were okay..... By grade 11 I could study a very specialized topic that I was interested in...namely ancient history, and "society" (our social science class in high school…… which had a unit on physical anotho and primateology) since they were linked to my very intense interest in evolution and primateology...both of those courses just had one section on a topic I was strongly interested and that was enough to get me interested in school and motivated enough to have a 90% average whereas before I was barley passing most of my classes and generally dissatisfied with school!!
OP...I think school gets better in high school and then even better in uni because you have more choice in what subjects you want to continue on in (i.e. math and science or just english and history...and eventually you won't have you take things like PE anymore!!)So you should look forward to things getting better/more interesting in terms of school =)

I always had social troubles in grades 1-5. I was a good, but not exceptional student.
In grade 6, the social problems became horrible. I became an excellent student.
From grades 7-12. I became more and more normal. Each year was better than the previous one. By grade 12 I almost had a social life.
Kindergarten to year 3 was confusing. I started when I was 5 and I think it may have been too early. I was a few years behind my peers. They said I bought baby toys to school. So much for sharing... I was really quiet and often did my work the wrong way.
In year three I changed schools. It was the same school but in a different building down the road. It was bigger so scarier and the teachers were a bit stricter. We had two teachers though which for some reason I enjoyed.
Primary school (years 3-6) seemed to be my best. I was still behind but good at art. I had my sister there and one friend. Then my sister went to highschool and my friend moved away and I learnt how poor I was at making friends on my own.
Mum put me in homeschool which I did a bit better at.
Then I did year 7 at another school. Remembered I was terrible at making friends so returned to homeschool.
Went to college at 15 and did a little better though still behind. I only did better a few years ago at Media school when I went the extra steps to study my homework in a way I could understand it.
