Hello,
I am studying Childcare in Ireland and am studying Understanding special needs module. Part of the requirements for the assessment for this module requires me to carry out primary research in the form of a short interview.
I was wondering if anyone was willing to be apart of this work as my aim is to become more aware of Autism.
Thanks a million,
Edel

Try getting in touch with St. Michael's House 01- 8770500. You may need to ask for the Ballymun office for general enquiries. It is a special needs service mainly for adults but it does run schools and other services for teenagers.

I don't know if I'd fit your requirements.

I'm fifty-one, and self-diagnosed. (But if I don't have AS, pigs are flying over the frozen wastes of hell right now, because this is the only place I've ever found people who ever made sense to me. Even other writers only make sense when it comes to writer-specific issues. Otherwise, they are incomprehensible to me.) I live in the US, so any interview would have to be by e-mail.

If that works for you, PM me. If not, I understand. Either way, I applaud your desire to learn more, from someone who actually understands what it's like, rather than just accepting the word of the "experts" who think they can understand from the outside.

Keep reading the posts on WP and than you will learn a lot about autism. We like to give information about ourselves in random chunks and pieces. We don't like to exploit ourselves in one large essay.
