Hi everyone,

Recently I've been working on a Greater Plan for Smoother Life, meaning I'm trying to 'hack' my biggest Asperger features (theory of mind, executive dysfunction, weak central coherence) into something we can all live with.

I cannot seem to work around the central coherence problem (not being able to see the big picture, for those unfamiliar with the term). I figured (I'm an academic, so this example is for a course I'd take):

1. draw up coherence map at beginning of the course
2. add elements while asking
a. how is it connected to the central part (i.e. 'frontal lobes' goes under 'brain' in a Biology map)
b. how important is it in relation to the central part (i.e. the different sounds in the world might be less important than specific places of articulation in phonetics)
3. review map
4. repeat (2)

As you can see this won't work, because while I'm mapping everything out nicely, I still am not tackling the part that's problematic, namely the intuitive task of decision making. (Both 2 and 3 involve the decision making, and I would like to know how I can train that task, not avoid it).

Does anyone know strategies and tools that can help an adult see the big picture?
