Autism Leadership - Others Move Out of the Way For.

Reply saying you read this post.
Four years ago I said to an autism specialist and graduate of Harvard University that I will be in the front page of the newspaper. She believed me without hesitation it would seem. Two months later I was in the front pages of two newspapers. I told others this is just the beginning. Then several more articles, radio and then when I decided local T.V news though I had a local parent represent my advocacy on the T.V screens. I would like to say that I declared war four years and some months ago and when I decided things would be done they were.
In an area in a town of ten thousand most are aware and polls have been taken and 7 out of 10 know of the autism and developmental disability candle making asking at local events. Now for large news awareness I have to wait for my robotics equipment as I can no longer expand. Fifteen thousand candles later, ten thousand samples later and five thousand magnets in a control group town of ten thousand within an area of around one hundred thirty thousand in which the majority of the candles sell outside of the small town in a city of thirty thousand.
I am tired of seeing people complain and not even bother to imagine better. I am tired of the damn social service work groups where I am expected to clean toilets, mop floors and can fart freely mowing the lawns because the damn loud noise will cover it up. So this depressed idea of employment I have complete creative control over. Now I announce the official Autism Candles brand and will make it available in the beginning of 2012 to any non-profit despite their focus.
The autism community is so divided that after looking at the politics it seems you can't take a poop without worry of someone being insulted. So my idea is while others are distracted by conflict, don't bother to hope and feel that there is no reasonable improvement to bother I'll just do what I want. If any of these advocate politicians have a problem with it I'll handle it and many others have been nice so I'm not at all worried.
While a lack of innovation has been present for so many years I am determined to be fearless and do what people have not before and on larger scales. An inclusion campaign in my area called Humboldt Includes. It's a civil rights and sponsored employment inclusion campaign I am beginning this year and I have already arranged media awareness and broadcasting sponsorships. What I am trying to say is I'd hope some folks would begin to dream a little bit and imagine for those with not that much hope a little prosperity, equality and inclusion into normalcy. I want to show you something, prove something and then I expect other areas to do similarly or else they got issues that need be corrected. This estranged idea of being homebound for some of us, limited by the contacts of social services and witness to the distractions of pride and autism chit chat online is now challenged. Who'd ever expect that change would never brew and that this idea of pity would prevent progress. Delusions!
Sincerely,
Nathan Young

Some people online that say they have autism are butt-heads. I don't really trust self-advocates at first but individually I then do. In fact I never thought about asking for permission to call a candle line Autism Candles because I know some would try to take away the dream because somehow it's insulting. I don't trust these people at times.
Other candle brands are used for candle fundraisers even special candles for autism awareness with puzzles. Now fundraisers can use a brand made by people with autism and other DD's.

I read the post and think it's a great thing that you are doing in providing these opportunities to people, and challenging yourself and others to do the best they can in life.
For those that continue to clean toilets, mop floors, and mow lawns; I don't see anything demeaning in that. In general, sanitation, has saved more lives in history, than the medical field. And there are many people enjoying successful lawn care businesses.
What I am saying is I support your efforts, but continue to support all of the other support organizations that work to provide meaningful work to disabled people that might not otherwise have an opportunity to work. I worked in coordination with some of these social groups to provide janitorial jobs to persons with disabilities and the individuals showed much appreciation for the janitorial work they were doing and were proud of their jobs. Some of the hardest working and joy filled individuals I have come across in my life.
I may of read your post wrong but it sounded like you were slighting social groups and the employment they provide to the disabled. Is that just your personal experience of it or do you think it applies to most of the social groups providing jobs like janitorial work.
The point is there needs to be more options then this kind of work. Yes others enjoy it, I help find those kinds of jobs and when people want raises and are declined they want better. My goal is to pay $9 - $14 an hour in supportive employment. I started at .50 above typical wages. Not everyone wants to clean toilets or cut lawns and at times employers just think well because of autism people with autism cannot file videos in a video store for instance.
Something is better then nothing but more options is hard to resist. My job is intellectually stimulating whereas picking up trash with a sponsored by vest or cleaning peoples toilets makes me think of how much more I can do. I want to create the solutions, motivate others to create solutions and these solutions will help people be all they can be.

If you are able to reach your goal of paying $9 - $14, that would be outstanding. I've never seen much more than minimum wage in entry level supportive employment. Minimum wage is also what you see in most service industry related entry level positions. What kind of jobs are you talking about? Is this within the realm of manufacturing the candles or another endeavor?
And thanks for the clarification, I agree.
Candles but the product base has experimented with bath and body, will get into jewelry manufacturing and cosmetics. Test marketing has been very good on the bath and body. Direct purchasing will enable higher wages with a deal with Amazon.com but because I buy by the pallet from the right sources, get supportive discounts from vendors and make loans to resellers profits are much higher. People support the employment project and so sales volumes, loyalty and with extremely good quality in fragrances as well the profits are substantial. I don't make money and likely won't for a long time and would feel bad if I made to much money.
Everything from pallet reception, marketing to support workers is sponsored. What money is derived is for R&D and wages.
I have goals for other projects but that is top secret.

Sounds Great! Good luck to you; you sound like an altruistic person in regard to the money thing. If Autism made you that way, we certainly can use more autistic people in the world. I wonder if that is part of the reason that Bill Gates sets such a good example in giving back to the world. I read a post, not long ago, where an individual stated that he thinks God has a purpose for him as an Autistic person. I can't say where you got your purpose, but it sounds like a good one. A company that takes good care of its employees wins in the long run. A person that cares about others gets a better shot at life for everyone. It doesn't require empathy; just effort.
I believe my job is to take care of people, help them find independence, show them that their dreams should not just be just day dreams and enforce inclusion as an American promise. The money is simply fuel for the fire of change. It's called being a psychosocial warrior. I put other people in place of me to speak to the public, hire talents for voice overs, study socio-psychopathology (the unwritten kind) and I seldom put myself out there when others would put themselves in roles for popularity because an identity is subject to envy, is a potential risk in many micro-causal ways should I not be liked and when I choose to I will give a few speeches to crowds but I am a big picture strategists. When I choose to do something it is done and I never consider the negativities of others.
The superficial world at times cannot even see their own pathological games but the honest game for the good wins over because it is justice.

Oh that ruined the whole formula of the topic for you.
Tell me if this one works for you. This is a less loud acoustic version.

All I can say is:
Good luck with that.
And I do mean that.

Gah. So now WP won't play a YouTube link for me at all! (just had the same problem on another video).
So, I copied out the URL and viewed it in a browser.
And... I'm so sorry, but I couldn't get past the really strange voice.
