I like some animals, like cats for example and others, not so much, but I prefer people to animals. I am not an animal-lover, it seems like all other people with autism like animals more. Is it even POSSIBLE to be autistic and not like animals all that much?

Is the poll question asking for personal preference?

I love animals, they accept me for who I am. And all cats have AS. Mine sure does :D We are both lonely so we stick together

I love being around cats! Other animals however...not so much. People are surprised to learn that I have been diagnosed with aspergers but don't like horses. I just feel so uneasy around them. Is there anyone else that doesn't like horses?

My whole life I've been more comfortable around animals vs. people. Any and all animals, except spiders..wtf... lol

I like cats. I somehow cry if I watch a video of some awfully cute cats (real cats, not cartoon) - it's weird and I don't get it. I don't usually tolerate cuteness that much, but cats... :)
Never had a pet, though. Animals in general I'm not really into. When I was a child I really loved animals, but at some point it changed. If I had continued down that road I'd probably be a furry now, so I'm quite glad for that
Hmm, and I hate rodents mostly - squirrels, rabbits, mice. It's the how they always seem to be the protagonists in cartoons and stuff and they're ought to be so AWW CUTE and funny KILLER BUNNY WITH LAZORZ WANTS TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD TO GIVE FREE HUGS!! !!1 :P
Just not my sort of humour, really.
Most animals I'm quite neutral about.
Most people are boring.
Zoos and animal documentaries are boring to me.
Animals vs people, I chose neither. I like (interesting) fictional people most, and I'm not sure if that qualifies as actual "people" in that poll :?:

When you ask this, do you specifically mean furry animals?

I mean furry animals, mostly, but feel free to post what animals you like!

Drumchick, I am not a fan of horses, but I'm OK with them. I like to watch them from a distance but I feel uncomfortable near them.

I like bettas and nothos and goldfish and cories. But tetras and cichlids are cool too.

Dogs. Especially dogs. I understand them and they understand me.

People are animals.

I prefer the company of a few individual human beings. I don't mind the company of non-poisonous and non-aggressive animals. I prefer my favourite humans, though.

Animals don't understand me. Even my own cat. They think I'm from another solar system. :D They may like me but they think I'm a weirdo. People don't, but animals do.

Well, we are animals in a sense, but you know what I mean. :D

When I go out for my daily walk (need the exercise), I always talk to the dogs and cats, sometimes birds...OK, any animal I come across. Rarely talk to the people I come across, though.

Who prefers me, animals or people? Animals. Maybe that's the dilemma many on the spectrum find themselves in. Animals are attracted to us and tolerate us better than people.
