For nostalgic reasons the N64 would be my favorite. Nowadays i only play PC games, but that doesn't really count as a console.

Does a PC count :D
If not, then I would say the playstation. I almost considered saying the SNES, but the playstation truly had amazing games, especially RPGs.

With the exception of Rakyugai Showtime and DDR, the PSX was an underachieving piece of s**t. Name any of it's mainstream "masterpieces" and I will tear them apart viciously. In the meantime, I'm waiting.

That said, the best console of all-time would have to be the SEGA Saturn or the PC-Engine CD.

PS2 all the way, for the moment. I have this very unsettling feeling that the Wii will be taking over. This feeling is only unsettling because I cannot imagine the Nintendo getting away with naming it the Wii.

I had the best memories with N64, having friends over and playing 4-way Goldeneye or Mario Kart.

#1....I would have to say presently from the ones I own it would be the gamecube...easy to fix...simple design, portable, controller functions are laid out well and color coded buttons don't require much of a second glance...only gripe is that the games are a bit more in comparision to the ps2 and I wish the media was in a larger format instead of the mini cd's.

2nd would be the ps2...format is great, but it has needed frequent cleaning to keep away the dreaded read error...wish the controller buttons were color coded a bit more...controller setup is super but sometimes requires a second glance.

3rd...Dreamcast...controllers could be formed a bit better, a bit awkward...other than that I still love this console...the driving games were terrific... 8)

4th...N64...classic...controller layout is nice...but not as nice as the newer gamecube...carts need taken apart and cleaned on occasion...

5th...Playstation 1....controllers are nice...as with ps2 more color coding with the buttons would have been helpful...

6th...xbox...it's big, it's heavy, but has lots of potential...the controllers are my pet peeve....just big and awkward...makes it not as much fun as it could be.

7th...Sega genesis...Sonic... 8)

8th...Nintendo SNES...cartridges need cleaning...slot pins wear out fairly easily...but...Mario...Duck Hunt... 8)

9th...Atari...Asteriods, Centipede, Pac-man...

I really miss Dreamcast, its my favourite. I had such hopes that Sega could make a comeback with this one. They really had innovative ideas for the console and really cool plans to come. But Sega's unique games are what I enjoyed the most. The death of Dreamcast seems like it killed the spirit of Sega as well, as I haven't been very impressed with their games for the most part in recent years. I consider the failure of Dreamcast to be the greatest tragety of gaming, although the butchering and death of Metal Gear Solid and Snake with MGS4 on PS3 may be a tie, its certainly something I am very emotional about these days.

Anyway, as for current consoles I just LOVE my PSP, I love that its multipurpose, but I'm enjoying a couple of games on it too. I like the Playstation 2 alot as well, alot of my kind of games on it.

Yeah, man.... After the Dreamcast fiasco I am really shocked that I'm enjoying Sony's stuff right now, but what choice did I have? Its not like I have a current Sega console to buy anymore >.<

But some PC stuff is really great too. It's weird, I'm a casual videogamer, yet I'm hardcore about what I do play, heh. I am serious about gaming, I just think less is more, and quality over quantity.

I had the most fun with my nintendo 64.

I don't think I'll ever have as much fun with a gaming console again.

Video game consoles are good, but not as exhilarating as some real life games with real life consequences, such as competition in business, seduction, solo sports, and others.

Xenogears and Silent Hill. I rest my case.
