Does anyone know of any Drs who specialise in adult diagnosis in the Glasgow area in Scotland?

I think you should contact the Autism Resource Centre in Ruchill. You may have to ask your GP to refer you to them.

Here's a link.

I've met two people on other forums who were diagnosed there, and who didn't have the problems you've been having in the Drum.

Good luck!

thx for the reply, the person I am seeing i think is also based in ruchill but moves around the city.

i'll be doing two more two hour assessments it appears this is the way they do it?

It also appears to me that there is virtually no qualified Psyches in the Glasgow area for adult diagnosis?

i'll e-mail that link and see what they say

I think Ruchill is a bit out of the way

basically you want to find a clinical psychologist, preferably one that specialises in adults with learning difficulties or autistic spectrum disorders

there should be a few in Glasgow itself, if you wanted to find one the thing to do would be to ask at the Royal Infirmary, Glasgow or any local general hospital, if they could sign post you.

the link provided is about one in Bridgeton, it CAN be a rough area so don't go yourself preferably - someone I know got attacked badly and needed an operation.

you can get a bus to Bridgeton, and the trains from Argyle Street Glasgow go there [it is the first stop on the line from Argyle Street]
Bridgeton probably has more than its fair share of people who take illicit substances.

I don't know where Abercromby business centre is, may have passed it once in the car.

ARC have moved from Ruchill to Bridgeton. It is ARC which does the diagnosing of adults with Asperger's in Glasgow. The normal route to assessment is via a referal from your GP, although I have been advised that it is possible to self-refer. Anyone wanting to self-refer should speak to the people at ARC first to find out what that involves.

Btw - Ruchill is only out of the way if you don't live close by! Bridgeton could be just as out of the way. :)
