I have been waiting for quite one time now to get diagnosed on whatever it is I may have. I am one of those sorts of "aspies," or maybe not even "aspies" per se but just socially-challenged-in-some-way people, who needs to have that evidently dreaded label. Otherwise I am left wondering like I am now what the heck my problem has been the whole time.
However, my mom has miraculously failed to recognize what my problem could be while only recognizing all the little problems she keeps demanding that I fix. ie, constantly stimming, threatening me with the possibility of athritis. Though, I do not care because stimming for me necessary to not feel so agitated to the point where I want to rip my hair out. But I do not tell her this because she will not understand. I've suggested to her before that I may have either sone kind of autism or even just ADHD, but she dismissed that and told me that my problem is just that I have to focus more.
Focus on what?
So, this leads to the question, how old do you have to be at the minimum to get an official diagnosis. I am just planning on getting diagnosed on my own and finally being at ease with myself. I assumed it at 18 though I'm not entirely sure. -____-

Respectfully, I think the question you've posted is not the question you want answered. Many children are diagnosed well before entering school, so the minimum age at which diagnosis is possible is much younger than your reported age of 16.

I think that your intention was to ask, how old do you have to be to seek diagnosis without your parents involvement/consent. The answer to this question will vary, depending on where you live. If you tell us what country/state you live in, it would be much easier to answer this question accurately.
