Sometimes LOVE being Aspie!

Sure I have issues on understanding some things which my family hates but for my Social Problems and Deviance course we need to create questions for every chapter. While all the students chose boring questions from the text I thought outside the box. The teacher LOVES my outside the box thinking and says keep doing it. The intellect part and ideas part etc. are the areas I excel as an Aspie and it really helps as a College student. Personally I refuse to choose "Just from the text." Plus I'm doing a philosophers course and female Aspies are "little Philosophers!" (I in turn plan on creating a research paper on female Aspies I'll let yall know what I write/how it goes at the end of the sememster.) YA!

Being an aspie does have its advantages. Being able to think outside the box and see things from a different perspective than other people is one of the things that will likely keep being a big advantage for you in the future. It has been very good for me over the years. I've been able to solve problems that others were stumped with and get ideas that nobody else could think of. It's definitely an advantage.

Hi, I'm pretty new to this site. Just learned I have Aspergers at age 53 after quite an unusual life. Would be interested in participating in your study, and also finding and connecting with other aspie women/girls. Lots of men out there but pretty lonely as a female.

Thinking outside of the box is really fun to watch as an NT parent of an Aspie child. There are certain things that I just cannot do (certain puzzles, ways of accomplishment work, homework, etc.) and my 14 year old will take one look and just figure it all out. This ability definitely comes in handy, personally, for me. It is good to hear that it can be an advantage in college -- because by extension, it holds out great possibilities for coming in handy in work for my son's future.

Forget about NTs who don't like you - haters gonna hate. It's good to be yourself, because at the end of the day, you're never really gonna be anyone else

Even though my AS gives me many problems in life, I'd never get rid of it if I could, due to how it DOES bring good things along with it. I simply cannot imagine life without special interests and the joy they give me. I just don't think that a neurotypical could possibly understand that type of genuine euphoria.

My job network member (person who helps me find work) said that it was great to meet someone that was so different. She was commenting on all my interests. Everyone there thinks I'm a great photographer and artist. I always feel just a bit more cheered up coming back from there.
