My mum used to tell me off for not being emotional enough or not feeling sadness. She wasn't doing it to be nasty or anything, but she said it all the time so in the end I felt a freak, or like a monster who was so self centred. But I did cry at a couple of films, always ones with animals- yep, The Incredible Journey and Homeward Bound, and Paulie (about a parrot).
With sad films that other people cry at, I often laughed at the crucial part because there was something that struck me as funny. I preferred funny films. I didn't understand a lot, but I did love the Mr Bean sketches. I would have watched them a hundred times over if my mum hadn't stopped me after the 99th time
I also watched Fawlty Towers and The Good Life with my parents. They were good too.
