Films from my childhood
I recently watched Homeward Bound because it was my favourite movie as a little kid.
But then I couldn't watch it without getting teary eyes and even crying in some parts. Even in the parts that were not particularly sad.
I don't know if it was because it was reminding me of my childhood or just the fact that I don't have a dog and really want a dog. I mean I didn't bawl into tears when I watched the original Stargate film. Even if one of those creatures reminded me of a dog I once had.
It got so bad that I picked up my cat and started to pet her and talk to her during the film. I at least didn't cry as much when I was holding her.
Oh god, I really want a dog.
So umm...anyone else bawl their eyes out when watching old Disney films that contain a few dogs and a cat?
I should really stay away from Hambone and Hillie.
Oh crap

I remember watching Homeward Bound, Milo and Otis, and the Benji movies many times as a kid. I never heard of Hambone and Harriet though, and I dont want to watch it because OJ probably kills everyone at the end. Oh and Hambone is framed by a bloody glove found at the crime scene. Well, probably not.
Homeward Bound, yes . . . when the cat falls into the water . . . when you think Shadow is dead (even though I know damn well that he is not . . .) and Milo and Otis is just miserable as hell . . . they get carried away from home in a scary way, they get separated, they get older . . . I cry my eyes out at that one.
Homeward Bound is a remake of The Incredible Journey. Also sad.
Anything with a cat or a dog is liable to make me cry. Most animals, really.
My mum used to tell me off for not being emotional enough or not feeling sadness. She wasn't doing it to be nasty or anything, but she said it all the time so in the end I felt a freak, or like a monster who was so self centred. But I did cry at a couple of films, always ones with animals- yep, The Incredible Journey and Homeward Bound, and Paulie (about a parrot).
With sad films that other people cry at, I often laughed at the crucial part because there was something that struck me as funny. I preferred funny films. I didn't understand a lot, but I did love the Mr Bean sketches. I would have watched them a hundred times over if my mum hadn't stopped me after the 99th time I also watched Fawlty Towers and The Good Life with my parents. They were good too.
I remember seeing Homeward Bound in theaters. I didn't cry but I remember when Sassy fell in the river and Shadow falling in the hole and he doesn't come home and then he does. I remember hoping they'd make it and they did. I also remember feeling sorry for the family because they came to get their pets and they were gone because they escaped.
Milo and Otis never made me cry and I can't see what is so sad about it. I watched it as a young child.
I remember Herbie and Bednobs and Broomsticks. I remember the animated Disney movies as well and old school Disney. I miss old school Disney. Maybe they should make an old school Disney channel and show all the old Disney classic films and shows. I remember Vault Disney. Now it seems like today it's hardly Disney with all these new shows now. I don't watch the channel very much anymore.

I remember Homeward Bound! I think I only watched it once because it made me cry.
My younger brother and I absolutely loved Milo and Otis. That movie even started a pug obsession between us! We pretended to be pugs and invented a pug language, and for my 10th birthday I got a picture book filled with nothing but pugs. Those were good times.
