Does anyone know if there's any research projects into TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) as a potential treatment for AS which are likely to be seeking subjects in Britain in the near future. The US and Australian ones aren't likely to be an option for me!

This is the only thing I came across.

http://www.researchautism.net/autism_tr ... kml?ra=146

"We are currently reviewing the literature on the use of TMS for people with autism.

If you are aware of any research, or you would like to share your personal experiences of TMS, please email info@researchautism.net Thank you. "

No harm contacting then.

Interesting stuff, but I I read something about this being used to 'induce' an instant religious experience (that wasn't the point of it, just something which people experienced) so I wonder if there's a permanence to any benefits TMS might create?
But, as you say - no harm in contacting them.

Yeah the same technology is used for that purpose as well.

I also think this type of treatment needs to be sustained to retain positive results. If it is stopped then then the results can be lost quickly.
(this claim needs verified that is only off the top of my head)

I'm interested in TMS in so far as it seems to be able to create effects similar to the (ostensibly permanent) effects of meditation on neurology. Meditation is also famously capable of creating so called 'religious' or 'spiritual' experiences. I haven't read or seen much material that talks about long term TMS effects. Anyone got anything? I'm just here fishing.
