I'm one of those extra verbal Aspies. I think in words for the most part. Have started to realize that as I think about something, or when listening to someone (which I don't do very well) or if I see printed words, that the last word in the sentence will stick in my mind and I'll start spelling it over and over in my head. Example: You say to me, "Let's go to the beach." then I start spelling beach, B-E-A-C-H, over and over for the next minute or two. It's never out loud. Strangely, I am a very bad speller and hated spelling in school as I always did poorly. Does anyone else have this feature?

Some persons (children) in school can have noticeable difficulties in class spelling bees due to undiagnosed ADHD Inattentive, undiagnosed central auditory processing disorder (CAPD), undiagnosed petit/absence/TLE/complex partial (and so on), undiagnosed constructional apraxia, etc.
