My sister Erica was mentioning her doctor. I said is he your Gynecologist she said yes. I blurted out I'm glad I don't have one! Mom/Erica said hush. I don't get why is it such an OMG! big deal?! I don't have one due to physical reasons of not needing that kind of doctor. I hate these social girls things like have a Gynecologist is some bad thing you don't talk about go figure.

i don't think her saying 'hush' makes it a big deal?

& there's nothing wrong with needing a gyneocologist anyway.

Good for you! I feel bad and confused why saying X was wrong when my family tends to make a comment towards something I say. I wish I could be like you and other Aspies here that don't let peoples comments bother them. :-)

i do sometimes, depends on my mood.
luckily, i don't have any family to wind me up.
the only opinion i care about is my boyfriends and he wouldn't judge me for saying the wrong thing, thankfully. :D

Where were u when u mentioned this? Where there a ton of people around?

Yeah my mom and my sister have done that to me before, my friends too. I generally find that girls seem to have a higher standards of conduct when it comes to what to say and what not to say which can be annoying at times because I gotta be on guard when talking to them. If I say something very wrong...Im screwed, thats why many female friendships generally dont last very long. My guy friends either dont care as much or dont see why this and that was inappropriete.

I think they were embarrassed by the fact you actually blurted out the answer. And having a Gynecologist is a very private matter. You don't just go blurting things out in a busy restaurant. It's just another social rule you will eventually learn. It took me awhile to get it too.

Were you speaking in a loud voice? "Gynecologist" isn't a word you holler in a crowded restaurant, no wonder you mother was embarassed.

Yeah, but a guy will pick his nose, scratch his nuts and then give a good long belch, and if you look at him like he's weird, look at you blandly and say, "Whut?" as he farts. At a wedding.

Yes, that was probably a little inappropriate... but who cares? I tend to say inappropriate things when I'm out places, some people might get offended, but it doesn't bother me, the trick is not really caring what people think of you.

I thought you were female. If you are, you probably COULD use a gynecologist. You ARE still young, but in 20 years or so it probably WOULD be a good aidea to see one. HECK, it might be a good idea to see one NOW if you never have before. There are just too many cancers and problems you can get.

BTW I was at a restaurant with a group of people, and a friend had a NEW tampon roll out of her purse, and she was EMBARRASED! Frankly, I saw no problem. She was female, everyone at the table probably figured that every woman was prepared, and mistakes happen. SHE didn't see it that way.

BTW Females often have like a different culture and way of thinking from males. Thankfully, HERE, it seems like aspie women think closer to how men do. That is NOT an insult, there is nothing wrong with it, and it doesn't mean you are any less a woman.

But if a boyfriend cares about you, he will overlook some things you say to be nice, or without any intent of harm, and he may even overlook some BAD stuff, because the female often feels that way about the male! As I said, we just think differently. We express ourselves differently in some ways.

I made similar mistakes when I was your age.

What you said was inappropriate because it came out like saying, "I'm so glad I don't have a stranger poking around in my vagina like you do." It's like stating out loud something that is very private.
