I heard that NTs can just drift through life on 'auto pilot' mode. Whereas us Aspies can't do that?

What does that mean exactley?

Not sure but I think it means that NTs can get through life easier than aspies because if you set the plane on autopilot, you don't really need to do all that much.

However, I disagree with this statement. NTs can have other problems too. Asperger's isn't the only problem out there.

Really i still don't get that? So NTs can just achieve things without really trying?

Can an aspie learn to drift through life on autopilot as well?

No things can be achieved without trying... There's a saying in Danish: Those who don't dare/gamble, those will never win! (hvo intet vover intet vinder)
Meaning even for an NT, work needs to be done to get ahead in life, sometimes HARD work.

But obviously the 'hard work ' is a lot easier for an NT?

NT's are not superhumans who are good at everything. They get sick, have frustrations, have disorders, and struggle as we do too. I know NT's who have problems that are things I never deal with. Why do people always act like it's us vs. them.

A lot of NTs don't get the same magnitude of discrimination that aspies do.

being on auto-pilot means your mind can be pretty much turned off and tuned out but your body goes about it's daily routine without much though. it only works on things you do all the time like brushing your teeth or getting dressed. i suppose we could just float through life like that but then we would never be able to accomplish anything besides following the routine, wouldn't be able to learn or grow or do anything out of the ordinary or that requires more than a minimal amount of effort. it doesn't mean that things come easier or that no effort is required to make something of yourself.

It means some people don't have to think about what to do or how to respond. They live spontaneously and it always works out for them.

It means that somebody is feeding you a load of crap. People that drift end up on the rocks.

NT's can't go through life on "autp-pilot" from what I'm aware of. The closest thing I can think of is getting into a routine & being so set in it that you no longer need to think about it. But even aspies/auties can do that (I know this from personal experience). The one thing I've noticed is that the NT's I've known seem to have an advantage when it comes to "getting back into the swing of things" after a break/vacation. Although, generalizing about any population is not a good idea.

It is no wonder they have caused the mess on this planet. They don't think about what they are doing long enough to see the consequences.

It's not true, things don't always work out for NTs.

Well, here is the thing, I may not be an aspie, but I knock at the asperger door way too many times.

I usually go to the movies alone, I play billiard alone, I visit stores from time to time, alone. Nobody talks to me, and I don't talk to anyone. I work alone as a freelancer.
My main problem in life has always been getting a job, since I don't know anyone, and I have to rely on job services, which suck here in Panama. Other than that,
I don't have too many bad memories involving people because I rarely have contact with people anyhow.

The whole idea that NTs get through life easier is a "Facebook" thing, where all you see is pics of how good their lives are. That's why I call it "Fakebook."

This indeed.

Trust me they have very real problems. People all have issues, ours just falls into a more atypical category.
