Do you ever think of these kinds of things?

Do you ever think of imaginary lines flying through the air and bouncing off walls? Or something similar in nature as self-entertainment (Like objects flying around and bouncing off walls).

Do you ever follow lines in the walls, sidewalks and just about anywhere else? Do you like observing the architecture / physical layout of a building, like to see where the wires go, where the ducts go, where the lines in the wall lead and that kind of thing?

Would you happen to know your "autism scores"(AQ and/or the 'aspie quiz') and your "IQ"? I'm curious if there might be relation between IQ, AQ and this kind of thinking. If there isn't, then I'll just presume I'm a freak of nature.

Yes I see something similar. I can see things at will or have some visual disturbances due to having a seizure.
My AQ is 42, aspie score I think is 170-ish and my IQ isn't known, but I'm guessing somewhere between 110-120. I did the official test but they didn't tell me my exact score. I just know I've expanded my knowledge a whole lot more since taking that test.

Yeah, I do similar things.

As a child I spent incredible amounts of time working out the geometry of objects. Things like lines tracing arcs, gear ratios, a lot of topics related to topics covered in a basic calculus class, actually.

And to answer your question, every aspie test I've taken I've scored very high on. I'd be on the honor roll if they were graded.

I also ended up studying mathematics formally and work now a lot with electronics, programming, and web development.

Yes, I see or "create " those things. I don't remember my AQ results but I'm pretty high (or low :P) and my IQ is different everytime it's tested, ranging between 110 and 140, which mean nothing special.
But I remember reading something somewhere , it was in a book, and if the author is reading this I apologize for not remembering it was his particular book: it described the way he saw the line where the stones that are on the side of a pavement meet, taking that line and tracing it straight to the building and then avoiding to step on that imaginary line. I used to do it as a kid, and I have a hard time not doing it now. I see the line, but I mean: I try to let myself step on it for fear of looking like a fool ...
The first thing that struck me in my new house was how nothing was parallel. The walls, the beams on the ceiling, even the floor isn't quite straight. Entering my house is like being on LSD or something, it gets a bit tricky stopping my brain from forcing those beam to go parallel :D I don't see stuff bouncing off walls though :)

When i was at primary school i used to see the lines on the ball courts kind of extend to infinity or until they hit a wall. I was paranoid about stepping on one of these imaginary lines.

Thinking back, it was really bizarre.

I have a certain fascination with lines, patterns on sidewalks, walls, fences (especially mosaic, I like my mosaic tiles in my bathroom). As a child I did these things: Not stepping on the lines between pavement tiles, leaping over thick white perpendicular lines on the sidewalk, walk on the edge of the pavement, running back and forth leaping over the perpendicular lines on the floor of the pre-school room. I got eventually punished for doing these when I refused to cease. I liked very much to walk on 3 feet concrete disks that formed an irregular stairway surrounded by grass.

Yes, I do imagine things like that sometimes. Occasionally, I do that avoiding-the-lines thing the others mentioned, too. Perhaps a bit related, I sometimes, if the floor is tiled somehow I will imagine the tiles forming shapes like this;
Image
and then I'd have to walk within the grey area. Ugh, that picture I just made quickly and it's annoyingly...well, I don't like the thick black lines, they're not pleasant to look at. But I'm too lazy to go and make it better...Sorry. If you squint it's not that bad.

AQ 34.
Aspie score 165 of 200, neurotypical score 24 of 200.
I don't know my IQ and I don't want to. I'm absolutely terrified of things that might measure my intelligence, it's a big issue for me. Can't see myself studying any kind of math or science like this, as I will panic in such situations. I truly hope I'll be rid of this issue someday - I actually used to enjoy and be good at math. :?

AQ- 185 out of 200...not quite sure about IQ, I have never taken an IQ test before. And yes, I see the whole world as wave lengths. Every person, every motion, every emotion, every sound, smell, etc. They wiggle in the air, vibrating as they go. These waves (if you will) get mixed together in things like fans, cars, the wind, etc. They bounce into walls, or any stationary object, and change that object forever. Some stick, some dissipate, but the stationary object is almost never the same, even if the change is slight. It's hard to describe, but it's like...our chemistry is rearranged by whatever we encounter, and the concept of measurable time allows us to quantify this change in the form of a mood, or an action.

I used to ride the bus home from school staring out the windows cutting everything in half with a "laser" emanating from my eyes.

I can't look at tile floors and similar things without having images in the tile flashing at me so to speak. I see shapes and shapes with in the shape and shape interlocking with those shapes some times it can be over shelling. When I look at the blinds with the light shining through them (the blinds are down and mostly shut) the lines do weird things they seem to move and the shadows for designs.

I am not sure if this is what you meant

I am not sure either, but I can so easily get stuck staring at tiles and patterned carpets because of what you said.

Shapes within shapes! That's exactly what it's like. I get so stuck in patterns and designs! The patterns JUMP out at me! It's crazy! I stare into low pile carpets, ceiling tiles, walls..anything with a texture or design

I do the same. I trace lines quite a bit. I'm amazed at how many things I do others on this forum do.
