I don't know if this is related to AS or not but i have a very good memory for facts of my life. I can recall almost everything, in chronological order, since i was 3. Before 3 i have some flashes of some events.

I can see myself in my high chair while the rest of the family is at the table, listening to "Patrouille du cosmos" (original Star Trek) while eating. I remember my bed with bars (no more than 20 months), i clearly remember when i broke my leg (at 26 months) and my aunt's reaction: she said "Yes..., it's broken" while manipulating it (ouch!).... I remember my dog "niky" which we lost when i was only 18 months.

But the oldest fact i can remember though is a day at "La Ronde" (amusment park) we went during my first summer (my birthday is in the begining of march), that's no more than 6 months old! I remember when we waited after my brother at the washroom and clearly see the ride that was next to it (le monstre), and 2 rides we did: one funny (la brasserie du rire) and one scarry (la souris folle)....

So, what is your oldest memories ?

I was sitting on my mom's lap wraped in a blanket watching cows cross a railroad track in West Virginia. My mom says I was about 4 years old. I also remember eating peanuts at a parade and a vaccum cleaner I was afraid of. That was all about the same time. And I remember living in texas, lightening bugs/fire flies. And my Grandpa pointing his finger at me cause I was sucking my thumb.

I remember everything that has happened since the age of three as well.

I have many flashbacks from before this. My earliest memory is beeing frightend by this guy called Joe when me and my family lived in USA. I was only a few months. I remember him picking me up and holding me above his head. I still have a detailed picture in my head about this.

The earliest memory that I have is being in a car seat in the back of a Volkswagon Rabbit and my parents in the front seats. I remember that the car was moving and my parents switched seats while driving the car. I didn't realize really what they were doing, but I remember knowing that that wasn't quite right. I think I was about 2 years old.

I remember sleeping in the bed with bars and climbing out of it. I think I was about 3 or 4.

I remember the first time I actually met someone not in school that was my age. I was about 4. It was my neighbor, one house down from me. He and I were calling to each other asking what our names were and how old we were and if he'd like to come over.

Weird memories...

I only have a few glympses of memorys from when i was young.
Some stuff about going on vacation mainly.
I remember some stuff about when i was 13 fairly clearly.
Hanging out with friends and school.

I always thought bad memory was a typical AS trait :?
My brothers seem to remember alot more from the past, that's why i assumed that.

My first birthday is the one I'm certain of, but I actually have memory fragments from before I were born.
It's interesting that what I remembered was that I was mad because there were a lot of people around and I didn't like to have people around. I wanted to be left alone. And then they wanted to open my presents for me, which didn't exactly made me happier.

i remember scooting down the stairs in my diaper (i couldn't climb stairs up or down, but had to bump my way down by scooting my backside down a step at a time - same way going up), bringing my bottle to my mother so she could clean it.

i remember being in my playpen. it was wooden, with colored bars and it hurt if you bumped into it. in the livingroom. and my grandmother came in the front door and i put my arms up when i saw her and she came over and picked me up. i think it may have been springtime.

i remember laying somewhere, in a crib, i think. the light was filtered and kind of reddish gold, like through curtains. it was warm. i saw my feet. something tasted funny, yucky plastic taste.

i remember my mother going away and that i didn't want her to, and falling on the floor and kicking and screaming as hard as i could so that she would come back. she didn't. everyone left. but there were dust motes coming through the window and i watched them instead, once i wasn't afraid anymore.

i remember looking at the dust motes a lot, as a kid. and the leaves on the trees when the wind blew them. and picking up bugs and putting them in my pockets to take into the house. and getting zipped into "snow suits" that wouldn't let me bend my knees or elbows.

i remember being put in my first "big kid" bed and being scared and screaming and screaming for them to come get me back. but they never did come back until the next morning.

i remember when i used to have to eat at the highchair in the kitchen. and then they let me eat at the big kids table. and then they let me eat with everyone else, but i had to go get the sears catalogs and stack them on the chair so i could sit on them and reach the table.

i had a bowl with a ducky on the bottom, so when all the food was gone i got to see the ducky.

woah, memory lane circuit engaged!

Standing up in my cot rocking it back and forth and enjoying its squeeking sounds as well as amusing myself in a vacant alotment but rocking myself on an old sign on a log of wood that was my very earliest memories and I was about 2 and that sign (I was told) was the old for sale sign for our house just after we moved in. I remember the room the cot was in and my mother testified it was only in that room for just a couple of months after we moved into that house on my second birthday. I also clearly remember my temper tantrums when used to bang my head agaist walls and on the concrete paths in blind rage.
I also remember nothing of the house that we lived in before. I had a bad attack of measles in the transition

My mom says I wasn't quite two...neighbor lady lifted me over the railings at an observation point to look down at a solid drop of about 250 ft or more...I remember my first reaction was to start kicking and screaming...but something told me not to move...I froze and closed my eyes until she finally put me down, I was terrified. ....had nightmares for years about it, but never told anyone...I'm afraid of heights even now.

My earliest memory is not a very pleasant one. The apartment where I lived as a child has a chandelier that I was terrified of. It looked like a glass barrel with wrought iron decorations around it; my parents told me it was a replica of the chandeliers used at railroad stations in the 19th century. Even though I like trains now, that chandelier scared the daylights out of me. I vaguely remember waking up in the morning, walking to the kitchen to get a drink of water, and seeing it on the ceiling, hanging over over me. It looked especially scary early in the morning, when the rising sun shined on it through the curtains, casting shadows across the ceiling. Every time I had to go to the kitchen at night, I'd cover my eyes and look down at the floor, just to avoid seeing that thing.

I had early memories of heights too. I can remember when I was two when I had escaped from my cot and sat on the window sill with my legs daggling over a 20 ft drop and waving to my mother on the street below. She quietly ran up the stairs and crept up behind me and grabbed me and put me back in the cot. I was at a stage in my life when I was yet to recognise danger. I could have dropped to my death it she waved back or something.

Then she got my dad to drive a stopper nail so none of the windows could be opened more than 4 inches.

My earliest memory is learning to walk, and being really really pissed off because adults were trying to help me, and I did not want help. I also remember being angry when adults moved me from a place I liked to a place I didn't want to be, like their laps. I have a lot of memories from about age 1 up; being potty-trained, the wallpaper in my room, foods I hated, etc.

I have a memory like this too, only for me it was the hooks that held the drapes in the dining room to the rod. Those suckers scared the pants off me. This memory is from around age 2 I think.

I remember walking with my eyes closed all the time...not sure how little I was but I have a picture even they took and I was probably not 2 yet then either. My parents were always yelling..."open your eyes, open your eyes". LOL

Another was when I was around 3...I hated anyone trying to hold my hand, especially crossing a street or in a store, used to fight like crazy...my mom just gave up after awhile.

I remember thinking "do they really think I'm dumb enough to go running out in the street or go flying off somewhere?"

My NT brother remembers his 2nd birthday. As for me my earliest memory is from when I was 3 and lived in the country. Getting stung by a bee, playing with lego, watching dad drive up the driveway as he came home from work.

My oldest memories are of the Afternoons that I would spend watching The Monkees, while my Mom would make dinner. I was about Two and a Half.
