I'd like to get a diagnosis for AS, but I'm exceptionally bad at telling doctors/professionals what I intended to say before I went in and usually just let my mother do the talking.

I've read that writing down what one wants to say can be effective, and whilst I have an idea of topics which would be relevent, what sort of things is the doctor (or person I'm refered to) likely to ask, so that I might have some preparation?

Is there any way you can send them an email?

If you don't feel you can do it any other way, write it out in a short note (no more than half a page - about two paragraphs) and hand it to them. That will get the ball rolling. Once they understand what it is you want, they can start asking questions and all you have to do is answer. That very difficulty in initiating a social interaction is a very Aspie sort of problem.

Google "triad of impairments", which will get you information on the three basic AS-related problem areas a DX will be based upon.
The more information about specific difficulties in these areas you can gather, the stronger a case you will be able to present.
