Quite often people say about favorit music/movies etc.... But we Aspies are different so what kind of music/movies did you like as a kid that were/might have been looked upon as either very grown up or just plain wierd??

Having several special subjects i had quite a selection that i still hold dear to me today like

Convoy
A Night to Remember(1958 Titanic film)
Jaws
The Posieden Adventure
The Last Voyage
Star wars trilogy
Superman trilogy
BTTF trilogy
The Prisoner....

Mixed to say the least yet thats me
These are films that i would sit down and enjoy when other kids were watching .....well kids stuff!! I would love to hear the music from such films as well....I remember to this day embarrising my mum by singing in public Near my God to thee from A night to Remember. And this was when i was about ten years old. But any of these titles are still ready to me if and when i am in that particular "Phase".

Psychologically someone somewhere could probally read a lot into that list and then tell me what kind of person i am!!

My favorite movies were "The Last Unicorn..." and a film I can't remember the name of, about a boy who is very intelligent but is actually a government experiment... he is adopted into a family but then has to go on the run. Does anyone know which movie I'm talking about?

I was very sheltered, so I saw pretty much only family movies. But here's a list of all my favorite movies until I was eight.

The Lion King
101 Dalmations
The Aristocats
Space Jam
That Darn Cat

I loved those movies for years. Especially Lion King! My entire bedroom was a Lion King paradise for any little kid.

well, ahem, when I was a kid we only had the tv in the living room and only one channel, Danish Television, so if I was up late at night I watch what my mother was watching. I liked thrillers I don't remember any except "The Saint". I loved western movies, High Chapparel and Bonanza.

I did read a book when I was twelve that was considered very adlt .I'd been in hospital for three months and you could borrow books so I read a lot. I borrowed "The Cancer Ward" by Solsynjetsin a russian writer that most adults couldn't understand. But it was about a ward in a hospital and I was in a ward in a hospital.

My mother was very embarressed that I was reading it, and appologized to people coming into my room: Yeah, my daughter is reading.....uhm... what can you do? Hahaha!

I liked movies with the Olsen Twins when I was younger, but not so much anymore. I think I've grown out of them.

The adventures of Pipi Longstocking
Land Before Time(the first one, not the crappy sequels of which there are like 7 now!)
The best of the best(TOMMY NO, YOU'RE GONNA KILL HIM!)
Police Academy(all of them were great)
Mortal Kombat(Those were $500 glasses a$$hole!)

Gotta be some of the greatest movies ever. I could still sit down and watch any of them still, over and over.

You are really showing your age with a list like that. Don't feel bad. I'm old, too. For some reason I enjoyed disaster pictures as a kid. I watched:

Earthquake
The Towering Inferno
Posieden Adventure (the old movie, I heard the new movie was a dud)

I saw Jaws but that scared me! After that movie I didn't want to go to the beach, go to the pool. I didn't even want to get into the bathtub!

Movies...erm, was watching foreign movies which few people would instantly know

How about books? Movies for the mind, right? :)

I was reading Peter James, Dean Koontz, Stephen King, Graham Masterton etc when I was around ten. I still love Peter James and my favourite SK novel still has to be The Talisman.

The first movie i ever saw in the cinema was the never ending story and i loved that....otherwise i don't think i really watched kids films. We only had a tv at christmas when i was a kid, my parents didn't believe in tv, and when we had one the films i watched were all adult stuff, the coen brothers, or black and whites, things like that. I like all manner of films now though.

As for books i was reading dickens and jane austen by the age of ten, sci fi and fantasy for most of my life and i only got onto teen fiction and kids books at about 14.

I could never sleep as a child and had a TV in my room so my favorite movies were all the old Vincent Price movies(with mummys and such)any movies about witchs(who were usually just unussual individuals who were picked on by NT villagers and the Blob movies...which scared me alot...My favorite movie was "little Big Man" especially the bath tub scene(big crush on Dustin Hoffmen at 12, that kick started my puberty I think)...

Now that I am an adult I love alot of the "kids" movies...Ice Age is genious and I really liked Shreik.
What I hated about "kids" movies when I was a kid was how they would "break into song" at every opportunity ad I thought the music sucked!!!To sappy and sentimental for me(I did really identify with pippy long stockings ,though...she was a bit of a role model when I was really young...fiesty

Back in the early to mid 70s there were some odd animated specials that entranced me, and no one else seemed impressed. I wanted to learn how to do that type of artwork. I don't remember what most were called.
